Visit Palm SpringsBook Today in Kelowna

Formerly the holiday hide out for famous Hollywood stars and movie producers, Palm Springs has provided the rich and famous with a welcome retreat from the stresses of Los Angeles city life since the silent picture era. Many of the lavish vacation homes and glamorous villas have housed Hollywood legends such as Frank Sinatra, Jack Warner and Sammy Davis Jr. just to name a few. As you explore Palm Springs take notice of the landmarks bearing the names of famous inhabitants such as Dinah Shore Drive, Gene Autry Trail and the Bob Hope Cultural Center.

Previously known as a vacation spot for wealthy elderly folks, the clientele of Palm Springs has changed. Today, a younger trendier set of tourists can be seen enjoying the major attractions in Palm Springs such as the golf courses, world class shopping and elegant resort and spas. Temperatures can get quite hot during the summer months and rainfall is always sparse, providing plenty of clear blue sky days to enjoy the scenery. While January to May tends to be the most popular months to visit this sunny destination, many guests prefer October or November which still provide warm weather and less tourist crowds.

Golf is a year-round activity at Palm Springs, and there are over one hundred courses in the area. Swimming pools and tennis courts are almost as numerous as the palm trees in the area making Palm Springs the perfect place to relax, play golf and lounge around the pool under a warm desert sun. Shopping is another popular activity with hundreds of shops, designer boutiques, art galleries, and markets most being located on South Palm Canyon Drive. El Paseo in nearby Palm Desert is another shopping area that has been compared to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills because of its collection of elite designer shops. If you are a bargain hunter, the Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Cabazon, are located about 15 minutes west of Palm Springs features 120 factory outlet shops.

Before leaving Palm Springs make sure to stop by Indian Canyons and enjoy the natural beauty of the desert geology and indigenous flora and fauna. These picturesque canyons featuring a natural desert oasis provide a great place for walking and hiking. The Canyons are a great place to find Indian art and artifacts, jewellery, pottery, and lots of stories for your friends back home.
